Description

The RekorHD RHDC2812VFBG is a 2MP 1080p analogue bullet camera with a manually adjustable 2.8-12mm varifocal lens, a 1/2.7" image sensor, and 35 infrared LEDs providing up to 35m night vision range. The varifocal lens allows the field of view to be adjusted from 113° at 2.8mm to 30° at 12mm, covering wide-angle monitoring of entrances and driveways through to narrower corridor and perimeter fence coverage.

Designed for outdoor security installation, the camera carries an IP66 weatherproof rating protecting internal electronics from dust ingress and powerful water jets, making it suitable for wall-mounting on external building perimeters, gates and outbuilding fascias. The grey powder-coated aluminium housing resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments, and the camera operates across a temperature range of -30°C to +50°C, covering UK winter frost and summer direct sunlight.

The 2MP sensor captures 1920 x 1080 resolution video at 25 frames per second, outputting an analogue signal over coaxial cable to a compatible DVR. The 35 infrared LEDs switch on automatically at dusk, emitting invisible 850nm light that illuminates subjects up to 35m from the camera without visible red glow. The varifocal lens is adjusted on-site using a thumbwheel on the camera body, allowing installers to set the exact field of view required without swapping fixed lenses. The camera measures 88mm diameter by 240mm length and weighs 750g, mounting to a wall or soffit via a three-point bracket (included).

Power is supplied via a 12V DC connection, typically run alongside the coaxial video cable from a centralised power supply or local plug-in adapter. The camera does not support audio recording or smart motion detection — it outputs continuous analogue video to a DVR handling recording and playback.

Frequently Asked

What DVR systems is this camera compatible with?

The camera outputs an analogue HD signal compatible with AHD, TVI, CVI and CVBS DVR systems. It connects via standard RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable to any DVR supporting 1080p analogue HD input. Check your DVR specification sheet for supported input formats before purchase.

How is the varifocal lens adjusted?

The lens is adjusted manually on-site using a thumbwheel on the camera body, accessed after mounting. Turning the wheel adjusts the zoom from 2.8mm (113° wide-angle) to 12mm (30° narrow-angle). The setting is locked once the desired field of view is achieved.

What night vision range does it provide?

The 35 infrared LEDs provide up to 35m illumination range in complete darkness. Actual range depends on ambient conditions, reflective surfaces and the zoom setting — at 12mm the narrower field concentrates IR light further, while at 2.8mm the wider angle spreads the same IR output over a larger area.

Can it be used indoors?

Yes, though the IP66 weatherproof housing and 240mm length make it better suited to outdoor perimeter security than indoor ceiling mounting. For indoor use, a dome camera with a more compact profile is typically preferred.
