Description

The RekorHD RHD4KD2G is a 4-channel analogue CCTV kit built around a grey 500GB DVR and two 2MP weatherproof dome cameras with 30m infrared night vision. The system records in 1080p resolution using H.265 video compression, which reduces file sizes by approximately 40% compared to older H.264 compression while maintaining image quality. The DVR ships with a pre-installed 500GB hard drive, power supply, camera cables and a mouse-driven interface.

Designed for residential and small commercial properties, the kit supports continuous, scheduled or motion-triggered recording modes. The two IP66-rated dome cameras are rated for outdoor installation and feature 3.6mm fixed lenses that provide a horizontal field of view of approximately 80-90 degrees, suited to covering driveways, building entrances, garden areas and side passages. The 30m infrared range allows the cameras to record recognisable detail in complete darkness. Perimeter intrusion detection and line-crossing detection trigger alerts when motion crosses user-defined zones or boundaries.

The DVR allows simultaneous playback, live viewing and remote monitoring without interrupting the recording schedule. Remote access is available via Android and iOS apps or PC software, allowing footage review from any internet-connected device. USB ports on the front panel enable footage backup to external drives for evidence transfer. The mouse-driven menu system guides installation and configuration without requiring a separate keyboard. The 4-channel architecture leaves two channels available for adding additional cameras later if coverage needs expand.

Yes. The DVR has four channels and the kit ships with two cameras, leaving two channels available for expansion. Additional RekorHD analogue cameras compatible with this DVR can be purchased separately and connected to the unused channels.

What hard drive storage is included?

The kit includes a pre-installed 500GB hard drive. Recording time varies depending on resolution settings and compression, but at 1080p with H.265 compression and continuous recording, 500GB typically provides 7-10 days of footage from two cameras before the oldest files are overwritten.

Do the cameras work in complete darkness?

Yes. Both dome cameras feature infrared LEDs that provide night vision up to 30m in zero ambient light. The cameras automatically switch from colour to black-and-white infrared mode when light levels drop below a threshold.

How is remote viewing accessed?

Remote viewing is available via dedicated Android and iOS apps or PC software. The DVR connects to your router via Ethernet cable, and once configured with your network the apps allow live viewing and playback from any internet-connected device.
