The RekorHD 2MP 4-channel analogue CCTV kit combines a 4-channel DVR with a pre-installed 2TB hard drive, two weatherproof 2MP dome cameras, connecting cables and a 12V power supply. The DVR records at 1080p resolution using H.265 video compression to maximise storage efficiency, fitting approximately 30 days of continuous recording from two cameras onto the 2TB drive depending on motion activity and scene complexity.

Designed for residential and small business security, the system supports simultaneous recording, playback and remote viewing through Android or iOS apps or via PC software. The two included dome cameras carry IP66 weatherproof ratings and provide 30m infrared night vision, making them suitable for outdoor mounting on walls, soffits or canopies to cover driveways, entrances, rear gardens or loading areas. The DVR supports perimeter intrusion detection and line-crossing detection, allowing the system to trigger alerts when movement crosses defined boundaries rather than on any motion.

The grey dome housings measure approximately 110mm diameter and blend with most exterior finishes without the high-visibility profile of bullet cameras. Each camera uses a fixed 3.6mm lens giving a horizontal field of view of around 80-90 degrees, suitable for covering a doorway, garden gate or parking bay from a typical mounting height of 2.5-3m. The DVR is mouse-driven through an on-screen menu and supports USB backup for transferring footage to external drives for evidence archiving. The system can be expanded to four cameras by adding two additional analogue cameras to the unused DVR channels.

How much footage does the 2TB drive store?

With H.265 compression and two cameras recording continuously at 2MP, the 2TB drive stores approximately 30 days of footage. This varies with motion activity and scene complexity — a static view with occasional movement stores more days than a busy street scene.

Can the system be expanded to four cameras?

Yes. The DVR has four channels, so two additional analogue cameras can be added to the unused inputs. The cameras must be compatible with the DVR's analogue video standard and powered separately from the existing 12V supply or a second power unit.

What's the night vision range?

Each dome camera provides 30m infrared night vision. Effective range depends on ambient light and the reflectivity of surfaces in view — a white wall at 25m reflects more IR than dark foliage at the same distance.

Is the system suitable for outdoor use?

The dome cameras carry IP66 weatherproof ratings and can be mounted outdoors on walls, soffits or canopies. The DVR and power supply must be kept indoors in a dry location such as a utility room, garage or loft space with mains power access.
