Description

The RekorHD 2MP 4-channel analogue CCTV kit pairs a 4-channel DVR with a pre-installed 1TB hard drive and two 2MP bullet cameras in white weatherproof housings. The DVR records 1080p resolution footage using H.265 video compression, which reduces file sizes by approximately 50% compared to H.264, extending the usable storage capacity of the 1TB drive. The kit includes all cabling, camera mounting brackets and a 12V system power supply.

Designed for residential and small commercial premises, the two bullet cameras each carry an IP66 weatherproof rating, making them suitable for external wall mounting under eaves or fascias. The cameras feature 3.6mm fixed lenses with approximately 30m infrared range for night recording, and built-in perimeter intrusion detection and line crossing detection trigger recording when movement crosses defined areas. The DVR supports continuous, scheduled or motion-triggered recording modes, and can handle simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing without dropping frames.

The DVR operates via a mouse-driven menu system and connects to home or office networks for remote monitoring through Android, iOS or PC apps. USB ports on the front panel allow footage to be backed up to flash drives for evidence transfer. The kit is expandable to four cameras total by adding additional RekorHD 2MP analogue cameras (sold separately), which connect to the spare channels on the DVR. The white finish on both the DVR housing and camera bodies makes the system less visually intrusive when mounted on light-coloured walls or under white soffits.

Recording time depends on resolution, frame rate and whether H.265 or H.264 compression is used. With two cameras recording 2MP at 1080p using H.265 compression on motion-triggered mode, 1TB typically provides 15-30 days of footage. Continuous recording reduces this to 7-14 days.

Are the cameras suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Both bullet cameras carry an IP66 weatherproof rating, protecting against rain, dust and UV exposure. They should be mounted under eaves, fascias or canopies to avoid prolonged direct water contact with the cable entry points.

Can I view the cameras remotely?

Yes. The DVR connects to your router via Ethernet cable (not included) and supports remote viewing through the RekorHD app on Android and iOS devices, or via PC software. The DVR must have a static IP address or dynamic DNS configuration for reliable remote access.
