The RekorHD RHD16R is a 16-channel analogue DVR recording at 2MP (1080p) resolution across all channels simultaneously, supplied with a 2TB premium hard drive pre-installed. The recorder uses H.265 video compression to reduce file sizes by approximately 50% compared to H.264 at equivalent quality, extending storage capacity without requiring a larger drive.

Designed for commercial premises, multi-room residential installations and small industrial sites requiring comprehensive camera coverage, the DVR supports continuous, scheduled and motion-triggered recording modes. Perimeter intrusion detection and line crossing detection alert the user when movement crosses a defined boundary or virtual tripwire, reducing false alerts from general motion in less critical areas of the frame. Remote monitoring via Android, iOS and PC apps allows live viewing and playback from any location with internet access.

The 4K HDMI output delivers high-resolution display to modern monitors without scaling artefacts, even when viewing multiple camera feeds in split-screen mode. USB backup allows footage to be exported to external drives for evidence transfer or archival. The mouse-driven user menu simplifies configuration without needing a keyboard. How much footage does 2TB store at 2MP?

Storage duration depends on recording mode, frame rate and scene complexity. With H.265 compression and continuous recording across all 16 channels at 2MP, expect approximately 10-14 days of footage before the drive begins overwriting the oldest files. Motion-only recording extends this significantly.

What cameras does this DVR support?

The RHD16R supports analogue HD cameras including TVI, AHD and CVI formats at resolutions up to 2MP (1080p). It also supports legacy CVBS analogue cameras. All 16 channels can record simultaneously at full 2MP resolution.

Can I access footage remotely?
