Description

The Rekor IP is a 2MP PoE bullet camera with a fixed 2.8mm lens providing a 115° diagonal viewing angle, dual white LED and infrared illumination reaching up to 30 metres, and a 1/2.8" image sensor delivering 1080p resolution. The camera houses a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio, supports local recording to a MicroSD card up to 128GB, and runs on Power over Ethernet so a single cable carries both data and power.

Designed for perimeter monitoring, driveways, garden boundaries and building entrances, the Rekor IP fits both residential and commercial outdoor installations. The IP67-rated housing protects the internal components from rain, dust and condensation, allowing the camera to operate in exposed positions year-round. The white LED function provides visible colour footage at night within the 30m range, while the infrared mode switches to black-and-white recording when ambient light drops further.

The 2.8mm lens gives a wide field of view suited to covering entry points, car parks and side passages rather than long-distance identification. The white body and black front bezel suit lighter-coloured building facades and blend with rendered or painted walls. The camera measures 213mm long from lens to mounting bracket, with a 104mm width and 107mm height, and weighs 527g net. The mounting bracket adjusts on two axes to angle the lens up, down or sideways once fixed to a wall or soffit.

PoE eliminates the need for a separate power supply at the camera location — the single Ethernet cable connects back to a PoE switch or NVR that supplies both network connectivity and 12V DC power. The MicroSD card slot allows local recording as a backup to network recording, or as the primary recording method in installations without a dedicated NVR.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between white LED and IR modes?

The white LED mode uses visible light to record colour footage at night within approximately 30 metres. The infrared mode activates when ambient light is insufficient for the white LED to produce usable colour footage, switching to black-and-white recording with IR illumination extending to the same 30m range. The camera switches between modes automatically based on light levels.

Does the camera need a separate power supply?

No. The camera runs on Power over Ethernet (PoE), which means a single Ethernet cable carries both the network signal and 12V DC power from a PoE switch or NVR. This eliminates the need for a mains socket or power adapter at the camera location.

Can the camera record locally without a network recorder?

Yes. The camera accepts a MicroSD card up to 128GB for local recording. This can serve as a backup to network recording or as the primary recording method in installations without a dedicated NVR. The card is accessed via a slot on the camera body.

Is the 2.8mm lens suitable for identifying faces at a distance?

The 2.8mm lens provides a wide 115° field of view, making it better suited to general area coverage than long-distance identification. For face recognition beyond 5-6 metres, a longer focal length (e.g. 6mm or 12mm) would be more appropriate.
