Description

The Rekor IP 2MP 4 Channel CCTV Kit is a complete surveillance system pairing a 4-channel Power over Ethernet (PoE) network video recorder with four 2MP bullet cameras, a pre-installed 1TB surveillance-grade hard drive, four 18.3m pre-terminated network cables, a system power supply, HDMI lead, mouse control and manual. The PoE NVR sends power and data down a single Ethernet cable to each camera, eliminating the need for separate camera power supplies.

Designed for residential properties, small commercial premises and outbuildings requiring perimeter or entry-point monitoring, the system records at 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution across all four channels simultaneously. The bullet cameras carry IP66 weatherproof ratings and 30m infrared night vision, making them suitable for external installation on fascias, walls or eaves where exposure to rain and temperature variation is expected. The 3.6mm fixed lens on each camera provides approximately 80° horizontal field of view, suited to monitoring driveways, entrances and yard areas rather than wide-open spaces.

The NVR uses H.265 video compression to reduce file sizes by up to 50% compared to older H.264 compression, extending the storage capacity of the 1TB hard drive. Recording modes include continuous, scheduled and motion-triggered, with USB backup for transferring footage to external drives. Remote monitoring is supported via Android and iOS apps, or PC software, allowing live viewing and playback from outside the property. The mouse-driven on-screen menu controls all setup, recording and playback functions, with simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing supported.

The system arrives ready to install: cameras mount using the supplied brackets, pre-terminated cables run from the camera positions back to the NVR location (18.3m per cable), and the NVR connects to a monitor via HDMI and to the router via Ethernet for remote access. Each camera auto-detects when plugged into the NVR and appears on-screen within seconds of connection.

Frequently Asked

What does PoE mean and why does it matter?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) sends both power and data down a single Ethernet cable from the NVR to each camera. This eliminates the need for separate camera power supplies and mains sockets at each camera location, simplifying installation and reducing cable clutter.

How long does 1TB of storage last?

Recording time depends on compression settings, resolution and recording mode. With H.265 compression at 2MP across four cameras on continuous recording, 1TB typically provides 7-10 days of footage. Motion-triggered recording extends this significantly, potentially to several weeks depending on activity levels.

Can the cameras be used indoors and outdoors?

Yes. The IP66 weatherproof rating on the bullet cameras makes them suitable for external installation in rain and variable temperatures. They can equally be mounted indoors where environmental protection is not required.

What cable length is included?

Each of the four cameras comes with an 18.3m pre-terminated network cable. If longer cable runs are needed, standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable can be used up to 100m per camera without signal degradation, though you will need to terminate the ends yourself or purchase pre-made longer cables separately.
