The ESP Rekor is a 4-channel IP CCTV kit comprising a Network Video Recorder with built-in Power over Ethernet switching, two 2MP bullet cameras rated IP66, and a pre-installed 1TB surveillance-grade hard drive. The NVR records and displays at 1080p resolution across all four channels, with H.265 video compression to reduce storage consumption and extend recording time compared to older H.264 systems.

Designed for residential and small commercial perimeter monitoring, the two bullet cameras mount to external walls, soffits or fascia using the included fixed bases, providing day and night surveillance with built-in IR illumination up to 30m range. Each camera connects to the NVR via a single network cable carrying both power and data through the PoE standard, eliminating the need for separate power supplies at each camera location. The kit includes two 18.3m pre-terminated network cables, a system power supply for the NVR, HDMI lead, mouse control and manual.

The NVR supports continuous, scheduled, or motion-triggered recording modes, with remote monitoring accessible via iOS and Android apps or PC software. Playback, live viewing and recording operate simultaneously without interrupting ongoing surveillance. Video footage can be backed up to USB drives for evidence transfer or archival purposes. The mouse-driven menu system handles configuration and playback without requiring keyboard input, simplifying installation and daily operation.

The two bullet cameras feature 3.6mm fixed lenses providing a medium field of view suitable for driveways, front doors, side gates and rear gardens at ranges of 5-15m. The IP66 rating confirms protection against heavy rain and dust ingress, allowing year-round outdoor installation in UK weather conditions. Each camera housing is finished in grey thermoplastic with IR LEDs arranged around the lens barrel for night vision without requiring external lighting.

What's in the box?

How far can the cameras see at night?

The built-in IR LEDs provide night vision up to 30m range in total darkness. In practice, useful identification range is typically 10-15m depending on lighting conditions and camera positioning.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes. The NVR supports up to four cameras total, so two additional PoE IP cameras can be added to the system. They must be compatible with the Rekor NVR — contact ESP or Niori to confirm compatibility before purchasing additional cameras.

What network cable length do I need if the supplied cables are too short?

The two included cables are 18.3m each. For longer runs, use Cat5e or Cat6 network cable up to a maximum of 100m per camera for reliable PoE power delivery and data transmission. Pre-terminated cables or field-terminated RJ45 connectors both work.
