Description

The Reif is a 68mm diameter round recessed downlight with a white powder-coated aluminium trim and a GU10 bulb fitting rated for up to 12W. The fixed beam direction suits general ceiling illumination in hallways, bathrooms (dry zones only), kitchens and living rooms. The 54mm overall depth fits into most ceiling voids above plasterboard, requiring a minimum 60mm clearance for safe installation.

Designed for new builds, refurbishments and retrofit projects where a clean, low-profile ceiling finish is needed, the Reif sits flush with the ceiling line once installed. The white trim disappears into white or light-coloured ceilings, leaving only the light output visible. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED bulb (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature (2700K-4000K), beam angle (36°-60°) and brightness (400-800 lumens depending on bulb choice).

The aluminium construction provides heat dissipation for LED bulbs without warping or discolouration over time. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor areas — for bathrooms it can be used in Zone 3 (areas beyond 600mm from the bath/shower). The spring-clip retention system holds the downlight securely in the ceiling cut-out without visible fixings from below. The neutral white finish pairs with contemporary, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors where ceiling fittings are chosen to recede rather than accent.

The 68mm diameter refers to the visible trim. The cut-out diameter is slightly smaller — refer to the Product Manual linked above for the exact cutting template. Typical GU10 downlights of this size require a 60-65mm hole.

What bulb does it take?

The Reif takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 12W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a GU10 LED between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for warm white general lighting, or 4000K for kitchens and bathrooms.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits the Reif to dry areas. In bathrooms it can be installed in Zone 3 (areas beyond 600mm horizontal distance from the bath or shower enclosure). It cannot be used in Zones 0, 1 or 2.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The downlight is 54mm tall and requires a minimum 60mm clearance above the ceiling for safe installation and heat dissipation. If insulation is present in the void, ensure the fitting has adequate ventilation.
