Description
The Raya is a 35cm cube-frame outdoor floor lamp built from powder-coated aluminium with an opal polycarbonate top diffuser housing an integrated LED. The open frame construction allows the lamp to sit on patios, decking, gravel paths or lawn edges without collecting water, while the IP44 rating protects the electrical components from splashes and dust ingress.
Designed for pathway lighting, patio corners, balcony edges and small garden zones, the Raya provides soft downward illumination through the opal diffuser rather than a bright directional beam. The 3000K colour temperature casts warm white light that works in both contemporary and traditional outdoor settings. The 4m black rubber cable includes an inline switch and connects to an external driver with a UK plug, so no hard-wiring is needed — simply plug into an outdoor socket or through a wall-fed exterior outlet.
The powder-coated finish on the aluminium frame resists corrosion from rain, moisture and UV exposure better than painted steel. The 35cm square footprint and cube proportions give the lamp visual weight without blocking sightlines across a patio or terrace. At this scale the Raya works in multiples — two flanking a doorway, three spaced along a path, or four marking the corners of a seating area. The opal polycarbonate is impact-resistant and will not shatter if knocked, making the lamp suitable for high-traffic outdoor areas.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the lamp is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (including dust) and splashes of water from any direction. The Raya can withstand rain and garden hose splashes but is not submersible and should not be left in standing water.
Does it need to be hard-wired?
No. The Raya comes with a 4m black rubber cable, an inline switch, an external driver and a UK plug. It simply plugs into an outdoor socket or an interior socket fed through a wall-mounted exterior outlet. No electrician is needed for installation.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED is integrated into the lamp and is not user-replaceable. Ideal Lux rates the LED module for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which is around 10 years of typical evening outdoor use.
Is it stable on uneven surfaces?
The 35cm square base provides stability on most outdoor surfaces including paving slabs, decking, gravel and short grass. On very uneven ground or soft soil the lamp may benefit from being placed on a flat paver or concrete slab to prevent tipping.
