Description

The Radiara-2 is a 189mm recessed LED downlight built around an integrated 20W LED module operating at 3000K warm white, housed in a die-cast aluminium body with a matt white finish. The front face carries an IP65 rating, making it resistant to dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, which allows installation in bathrooms, kitchens, covered outdoor soffits and other moisture-prone locations where a standard non-IP downlight would not be suitable.

Designed for plasterboard ceiling installation with a 46mm cut-out depth, the Radiara-2 fits standard ceiling voids of 50mm or deeper and sits flush with the ceiling plane once installed. The white bezel ring integrates cleanly into white and light-coloured ceilings, while the recessed lamp module produces a soft, diffused pool of light without visible glare when viewed from normal standing or seated positions. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm-toned illumination that suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas and hospitality environments where cooler daylight-style LEDs would feel clinical.

The die-cast aluminium construction handles the heat dissipation required for continuous 20W operation without performance degradation, while the fixed (non-adjustable) beam angle delivers consistent downward illumination across multiple fittings when installed in a grid or row. The integrated LED eliminates the need to source replacement bulbs and provides a rated service life significantly longer than halogen or CFL equivalents. The matt white finish on both the bezel and internal reflector reduces reflections and hides minor dust or ceiling texture variations around the cut-out edge.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP65 front protection rating allows installation in bathroom zones 1 and 2, including above showers and baths, provided the rear connection is properly sealed within the ceiling void and the fitting is installed per UK wiring regulations.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 50mm ceiling void depth is required to accommodate the 46mm recessed body plus cable connections. Shallower voids will not provide sufficient clearance for safe installation.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The Radiara-2 uses an integrated LED module that is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for a service life of approximately 25,000-30,000 hours under normal use, which equates to around 10-15 years at typical residential usage patterns.

Can it be installed outdoors?

The IP65 front face allows installation in covered outdoor locations such as porch soffits, carport ceilings and covered walkways where the fitting is protected from direct rainfall. It is not suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations without overhead cover.
