Description

The Radiara is a 10W constant current LED driver from Ideal Lux, delivering 300mA output with 1-10V dimming control. Constant current regulation maintains stable 300mA output regardless of mains voltage fluctuation, protecting connected LEDs from thermal runaway and extending their operational lifespan. The driver converts 230V mains to low-voltage DC suitable for LED modules, panels and strip light applications.

Designed for indoor residential, office and retail installations, the driver fits recessed ceiling voids, behind LED panels, or within purpose-built luminaire housings. The 130mm x 43mm footprint allows mounting in typical 150mm ceiling voids without requiring additional depth. The 1-10V dimming protocol is compatible with standard commercial dimmer control systems and works by reducing current output in proportion to the control voltage applied between 1V (minimum dim) and 10V (full brightness).

The white polythene casing carries IP20 rating, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but not against moisture ingress — this driver is suitable for dry indoor locations only and must not be used in bathrooms, outdoor canopies or other damp environments. The driver includes short-circuit, overload and over-temperature protection circuits that shut down output if fault conditions are detected, preventing damage to both the driver and connected LED load.

Frequently Asked

What type of dimming does it support?

The Radiara uses 1-10V dimming protocol. This requires a compatible 1-10V dimmer control unit (sold separately) which sends a low-voltage control signal to the driver. Trailing-edge domestic dimmers will not work with this driver.

What LED load can it drive?

The driver outputs 300mA constant current at up to 10W. It is designed for LED modules, panels or strip lights with a forward voltage between approximately 30-34V. Check the voltage and current requirements of your LED product before connecting to ensure compatibility.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor locations. For bathrooms or outdoor use, an IP44 or IP65 rated driver is required.

Where is the driver typically mounted?

The driver is usually mounted in a ceiling void above the LED fitting, inside a luminaire housing, or behind an LED panel. It requires adequate ventilation to dissipate heat and must not be covered with insulation material.
