Description
The Quincy is a 425mm outdoor wall lantern built around a bell-shaped seeded glass outer and an etched opal inner cylinder, set in a die-cast aluminium frame finished in oil rubbed bronze. The double-glass construction places a frosted opal cylinder inside the clear seeded outer glass, diffusing the light from a single E27 bulb while the outer glass protects the diffuser and creates depth.
Designed for porches, front door surrounds and covered patios, the Quincy carries an IP44 rating for weather resistance, meaning it can handle rain and splashes but should be mounted under an overhang or canopy rather than fully exposed to direct weather. The 273mm projection from the wall suits deeper porch recesses and provides clearance for the lantern to sit proud of the wall without obstruction. The E27 socket accepts any standard screw bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament depending on the desired light temperature and brightness.
The oil rubbed bronze finish is a dark brown-grey with subtle brass undertones, applied over die-cast aluminium that holds its finish better than painted mild steel in outdoor conditions. The seeded glass outer shows tiny air bubbles throughout the thickness of the glass, creating a hand-blown appearance and breaking up hard shadows when the lantern is lit. The ring detail at the top of the frame and the curved mounting bracket reference early American lantern designs without heavy ornamentation, making the Quincy suitable for colonial, traditional and transitional exterior styles.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the lantern is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against water splashes from any direction. It should be mounted under a porch, overhang or canopy rather than in fully exposed positions where it would face direct driving rain or snow accumulation.
What bulb does it take?
The Quincy uses a single E27 screw bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to recreate the warm glow of a candle flame inside the opal cylinder.
How is the seeded glass cleaned?
The outer seeded glass can be wiped with a damp cloth and glass cleaner. The tiny air bubbles inside the glass thickness are permanent features of the seeded glass style, not dirt or condensation.
What wall surface is it suitable for?
The mounting bracket fixes to masonry, brick, rendered blockwork or timber cladding using suitable fixings for the wall type. The 273mm projection and 1.5kg approximate weight require secure fixing into solid substrate or into timber studs behind cladding.
