Description

The Queen is a 535mm circular crystal light from Ideal Lux that mounts either flush to a ceiling or directly on a wall, with nine G9 bulb positions arranged across concentric chrome-plated metal rings. Each ring holds precision-cut crystal octagons that refract light through multiple facets, creating a diffused sparkle effect across the fitting's surface. The chrome rings provide the structure and the reflective base for the crystals.

Designed for dual mounting, the Queen suits rooms where a traditional pendant drop would be impractical — low-ceiling dining rooms under 2.4m, hallways, bedrooms, and living rooms requiring ambient light without vertical projection. When ceiling-mounted the fitting projects approximately 100mm from the surface; when wall-mounted it acts as a decorative wash light that casts refracted patterns onto adjacent walls. The IP20 rating limits it to dry indoor locations.

The 535mm diameter and nine G9 sockets deliver enough light output to serve as primary illumination in rooms up to 15-18 square metres when fitted with 40W-equivalent LED G9 bulbs. The chrome finish is polished to a mirror shine that amplifies the crystal reflections, and the metal rings are fixed in position so the crystal arrangement remains consistent. Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulbs chosen — pair with dimmable LEDs and a trailing-edge dimmer for full control.

Yes. The Queen is designed for dual mounting. When ceiling-mounted it acts as a flush or semi-flush light; when wall-mounted it becomes a decorative wall light that casts refracted light patterns outwards and across adjacent surfaces.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes nine G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. For best results use dimmable LED G9 bulbs rated at 3-5W (equivalent to 30-40W halogen) in warm white 2700K-3000K. Total maximum load across all nine sockets should not exceed the fitting's rated capacity.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming. Actual dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulbs you install — choose bulbs explicitly marked as dimmable and pair with a trailing-edge dimmer for smooth control without flicker.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe each crystal octagon with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid sprays, polishes and abrasive materials that might scratch the crystal facets or tarnish the chrome.
