Description

The Prismis is a 75mm ceramic wall light with a white enamel finish and a single E27 bulb holder. The fitting comprises a shallow ceramic cup that mounts flush to the wall, projecting just 68mm from the surface once installed. The bulb sits exposed within the cup, making the light source itself the primary design element.

Designed for hallways, landings, bathrooms (IP20-rated, so outside shower zones) and low-ceiling corridors where a compact fitting is needed, the Prismis provides localised task or ambient light depending on the bulb chosen. The 75mm footprint suits narrow walls between doorways and above skirting boards where larger fittings would overpower the space. The white enamel finish pairs with white-painted walls to create a clean, continuous surface.

The ceramic body resists heat from the bulb and provides a more substantial feel than plastic equivalents. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum rated wattage (see Specification table), giving flexibility to choose the light temperature, brightness and bulb shape that suits the application. Pair with a globe or pear-shaped filament bulb for visible-filament decorative effect, or a standard LED for functional light. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does it take?

The Prismis takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-8W LED globe or pear-shaped filament bulb between 2700K-3000K for a warm glow in hallways and corridors.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The ceramic fitting itself supports dimming — the dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb and dimmer model chosen.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for indoor use in dry locations. It can be installed in bathrooms outside shower zones (zones 0, 1, 2), typically above 2.25m height or outside the 60cm radius around a bath or shower.

How is it fitted to the wall?

The ceramic cup mounts directly to a standard UK wall back box or surface-mount patress using screws through the rear of the fitting. The bulb holder connects to mains wiring inside the back box, and the ceramic cup conceals the connection once fitted.
