Description

The Polar is a 115mm square recessed ground light built from high-performance resin with a black finish, housing a single GX53 bulb fitting (sold separately). Rated IP66, the fitting is sealed against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, making it suitable for installation in driveways, pathways, patios and garden borders exposed to rain, snow and hose-down cleaning.

Designed to sit flush with the ground surface, the Polar integrates into paving, concrete, gravel and timber decking to provide wayfinding light along paths, accent lighting for borders and planting beds, or low-level ambient light on patios and terraces. The 115mm square aperture fits standard outdoor electrical boxes and the resin body installs into a shallow recess cut into the ground surface. The black finish is UV-stabilised to resist fading under direct sunlight.

The resin construction resists corrosion from atmospheric moisture, road salt and chemical fertilisers, and operates across a temperature range of -60°C to +90°C without cracking or deforming. This makes the Polar suitable for regions with freeze-thaw cycles and summer heat. The GX53 bulb format accepts LED, CFL and halogen lamps, with most users choosing a warm-white LED between 5-9W for pedestrian pathway lighting. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GX53 dimmable bulb and dimmer circuit.
