Description
The Plymouth is a 9-light chandelier built on a two-tier frame with scrolled arms radiating from a central column, finished in hand-rubbed old bronze. Three lights sit on the upper tier, six on the lower, each fitted with an E14 candle sleeve and a light amber organza shade with a bronze trim. The chandelier measures 705mm in diameter and 825mm in height, suspended on an adjustable chain that allows drops from 905mm to 3953mm depending on ceiling height.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living areas with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Plymouth works as both ambient lighting and a decorative centrepiece. The two-tier configuration distributes light across a wide horizontal plane, making it suitable for illuminating 2.4-3m dining tables or central spaces up to 25m² in area. The 3048mm chain allows considerable flexibility in installation, with the drop adjusted on fitting to position the chandelier 750-900mm above a table surface or 2.1-2.4m above floor level in an entrance hall.
The old bronze finish is applied by hand and rubbed back to reveal darker undertones in the recesses and scroll detailing, giving each piece a subtly different patina. The light amber organza shades diffuse the light from the E14 bulbs (sold separately, maximum 40W per socket) into a warm glow rather than directing it downward as a task light. The scrolled arms, turned column sections and decorative castings reference American colonial and early 20th-century design, pairing well with period properties and traditionally styled interiors.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Plymouth take?
The chandelier takes nine E14 candle bulbs, each rated to a maximum of 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a soft, traditional appearance that complements the amber organza shades.
What ceiling height is needed?
The chandelier suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For dining table installation, the fitting typically hangs 750-900mm above the table surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.7m when accounting for the chandelier's 825mm body height. The chain is adjustable on installation from 905mm to 3953mm total drop.
What room size does it suit?
The 705mm diameter and two-tier light distribution work well in rooms of 20-30m² floor area. For dining rooms, the chandelier comfortably illuminates tables of 2.4-3m in length. Larger rooms benefit from pairing the Plymouth with additional wall lights or table lamps to fill the perimeter.
Is the old bronze finish consistent across all pieces?
No. The hand-rubbed old bronze finish is applied manually and varies slightly between individual chandeliers. Some pieces show more contrast between the raised and recessed areas, while others present a more uniform tone. This variation is characteristic of the hand-finishing process.
