Plantation 1 Light Outdoor Wall Light - Pearl Bronze

The Plantation is a single-light outdoor wall light from Hinkley, built around a pineapple-cut optic glass shade set inside a cast aluminium frame finished in pearl bronze. The glass is moulded with a diamond lattice pattern that refracts light into faceted reflections across adjacent walls and surfaces. A 3W 3000K G9 LED bulb is included and sits inside the glass, casting warm white light through the cuts.

Designed for exterior wall mounting on porches, patios, entrance alcoves and covered garden walkways, the Plantation carries an IP44 rating making it suitable for locations exposed to moisture and dust but not direct driving rain or submersion. The 165mm projection from the wall and 220mm height suit residential porch columns, garage side entrances and front door surrounds where decorative accent lighting is needed alongside or instead of a porch lantern.

The cast aluminium frame includes textured basket-weave detailing on the backplate and an ornamental pineapple finial at the top of the shade holder, giving the fitting a classical American Colonial aesthetic. The pearl bronze finish is a warm mid-tone with subtle gold undertones that weathers naturally over time in outdoor conditions. The compact 124mm width allows the light to be installed in narrow alcoves or paired as matching sconces either side of a doorway.

What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 indicates the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against water splashes from any direction. This makes the Plantation suitable for covered porches, patios under eaves, and entrance alcoves where the light will not face direct driving rain or sustained water exposure. It should not be installed fully exposed to open sky or in bathroom shower zones.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The Plantation includes one 3W 3000K G9 LED bulb. The bulb is replaceable — standard G9 LEDs up to 3W are compatible, though higher wattages may generate excessive heat inside the glass shade.

Can the bulb be dimmed?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 LED bulb installed. The included 3W LED is not dimmable. If dimming is required, replace it with a dimmable G9 LED and pair with a trailing-edge dimmer rated for low-wattage LEDs.

How is the bronze finish maintained outdoors?

The pearl bronze finish is applied to cast aluminium and will develop a natural patina over time when exposed to outdoor conditions. This is normal and part of the material's aging process. To slow patina development, wipe the frame with a dry cloth every few months. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishes on the finish.
