Description

The Phasia is a 500mm tall outdoor pedestal light with a white powder-coated aluminium frame and a transparent tempered glass diffuser. The rectangular aperture in the upper half of the pedestal houses a single G9 bulb (sold separately), which casts light both forward through the glass and downward onto the base, providing path marking and ambient illumination. The IP44 rating protects the fitting against water splashes from any direction and dust ingress.

Designed for garden borders, driveway edges, patio boundaries and pathway marking, the Phasia stands 500mm high with a 150mm width and 50mm projection. The low-level height suits positions where tall bollards would block sightlines or dwarf plantings, while still providing enough elevation to avoid being obscured by groundcover. The white finish works across contemporary, coastal and minimalist garden schemes, reflecting daylight during the day and creating a clean backdrop for the warm light at night.

The aluminium construction is powder-coated rather than painted, giving a matt white finish that resists UV fade and weathering better than standard paint. The tempered glass diffuser is impact-resistant and secured to the frame with concealed fixings. The pedestal base includes pre-drilled mounting points for fixing to concrete, paving slabs or compacted gravel using appropriate outdoor fixings (not supplied). The G9 socket accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to the rated wattage, allowing control over colour temperature and brightness.

Each Phasia pedestal is supplied with a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux, covering defects in materials and construction when installed and used within the IP44 rating limits.

IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (including dust and insects) and water splashes from any direction. This makes the Phasia suitable for open gardens, patios and pathways where it may be exposed to rain, but not for areas subject to direct hose-down, pressure washing or submersion.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Phasia takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. You can use either halogen G9 bulbs (typically 25-40W) or LED G9 bulbs (typically 2-5W equivalent). LED G9 bulbs run cooler and last longer, making them the better choice for outdoor fittings.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable. However, dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. LED G9 bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with a compatible LED dimmer. Standard halogen G9 bulbs work with most dimmers.

How is it mounted?

The base of the pedestal has pre-drilled fixing holes for screwing to a hard surface such as concrete, paving slabs or decking. Fixings are not supplied. The electrical cable enters through the base, so the wiring must be run underground or beneath the mounting surface before installation.
