Description

The Ottilia is a 435mm semi-flush crystal chandelier built on a gold-finished metal frame with a perforated ornamental ring and a single tiered cascade of cut crystal beads. Six E14 bulb sockets sit inside the frame, hidden behind the crystal strands, and a central faceted crystal ball hangs below the main body as a focal point. The semi-flush mount sits 26cm from the ceiling at its maximum drop, making it suitable for rooms with standard ceiling heights where a full pendant would hang too low.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and bedrooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m, the Ottilia provides ambient light through the crystal and directed light through the six bulbs (sold separately). The perforated metal ring creates a decorative crown around the upper tier of crystals, while the lower cascade fills the interior of the frame with layered refraction. The gold finish on the metal frame reads as a warm brass tone under typical home lighting and pairs with both traditional and warm contemporary interiors.

The crystals are cut into different sizes and facet patterns, ranging from 8mm beads in the cascade to larger 20-30mm pendants on the outer ring and the 40mm faceted ball at the base. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor locations only. At 60W per bulb socket, the chandelier can deliver up to 360W of total output if fitted with six 60W incandescent bulbs, though most installations now use 6-8W LED bulbs at 2700-3000K to reduce heat and energy use while maintaining warm light through the crystal.

The Ottilia takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 6-8W LED candle bulbs at 2700-3000K for warm light through the crystal with lower energy use and heat output than incandescent.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 26cm drop from ceiling to base makes this a semi-flush fitting rather than a full pendant, so it suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights without hanging too low into the room. It works well in dining rooms and bedrooms where a pendant would intrude into head height.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any area where it may be exposed to moisture.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe each crystal bead gently with a dry microfibre cloth or use a barely-damp cloth for stubborn marks. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the crystals or the gold-finished frame, as moisture can damage the finish and corrode the metal fittings over time.
