Description

The Otis is a compact LED reading wall light built around a flexible chrome gooseneck arm attached to a rectangular chrome backplate, with an integrated 3W 4000K LED inside the cylindrical lamp head. The gooseneck allows the head to be positioned anywhere within a 300mm radius of the wall mount, making it suitable for directing light onto a pillow, a book, or a bedside table surface.

Designed for bedside reading, hotel headboards and office workstations where directed task light is needed without occupying surface space, the Otis mounts directly to the wall with the backplate sitting 115mm wide and projecting 65mm from the wall when the arm is retracted. An inline switch on the backplate allows the light to be turned on and off without reaching for a separate wall switch or cord pull, which is particularly useful when the fitting is mounted above head height or on the side of a bed.

The chrome finish gives a polished reflective surface that pairs with modern and contemporary interiors, and the 4000K colour temperature delivers a neutral white light that sits between warm bedside lighting and cooler office task lighting. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations, and the non-dimmable LED operates at a fixed 3W output on standard 230V mains. The rectangular backplate measures 115mm across, making it large enough to cover most UK single-gang back boxes if retrofitting over an existing switched socket position.

No. The integrated 3W LED operates at a fixed output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. The inline switch on the backplate provides on/off control only.

The 4000K colour temperature is a neutral white, cooler than warm bedside lighting (2700K-3000K) but not as clinical as daylight-white office lighting (5000K+). It sits in the middle ground and works for both reading and task lighting.

How flexible is the gooseneck arm?

The chrome gooseneck can be bent by hand to position the lamp head anywhere within approximately 300mm of the wall mount. Once positioned it holds its shape under the weight of the head, but can be repositioned as needed.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture and must be used in dry indoor locations only. For bathroom use, look for fittings rated IP44 or higher.
