Description

The Olivia is a 140mm diameter recessed downlight with a raised acanthus leaf pattern surrounding a central fixed GU10 fitting. The polished gold finish covers both the decorative surround and the inner lamp holder, giving the fitting a traditional ceiling rose appearance when fitted flush with the ceiling surface.

Designed for hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where ceiling-mounted accent lighting is paired with period or classical interiors, the Olivia sits 37mm deep including the decorative surround. The fixed fitting directs light straight down from the ceiling, making it suitable for general ambient lighting when multiple fittings are spaced at 1.5-2m intervals, or as accent lighting over specific furniture pieces. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas only.

The acanthus leaf surround is cast metal with a polished gold plating that reflects both the light from the bulb and ambient room light, adding depth to the ceiling plane. The 140mm outer diameter makes the fitting noticeably larger than plain recessed downlights, so it functions as both a light source and a decorative ceiling feature. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard mains-voltage LED or halogen bulb up to the maximum wattage specified in the lamp holder (bulb sold separately), and the fitting is compatible with most dimmer switches when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb.

What ceiling cut-out size is required?

Check the installation manual for the exact cut-out diameter. The decorative surround is 140mm outer diameter and sits proud of the ceiling surface, so the cut-out will be smaller than 140mm to allow the surround to rest on the ceiling plane.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Olivia to dry indoor areas only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs or sinks, or any other location where moisture or steam is present.
