Description
The Okno is a 170mm square recessed downlight with an integrated 24W LED and adjustable colour temperature between 3000K warm white and 6000K cool white. A wall switch or control unit toggles between the three preset colour temperatures (3000K, 4000K, 6000K), allowing the light to be matched to the time of day or task without changing the fitting. The 100° beam angle provides even wash coverage across a room rather than a focused spot.
Designed for areas where both moisture resistance and colour temperature flexibility matter, the Okno carries an IP44 rating that protects against water splashes, making it suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms and covered outdoor areas. The 170mm square faceplate sits flush with the ceiling when installed, with spring clips holding the fitting into a cut-out of approximately 155mm square. The low 60mm recess depth fits most ceiling voids without needing extended space above the plasterboard.
The white aluminium and plastic construction keeps the fitting lightweight at under 500g, simplifying installation on typical plasterboard ceilings. The aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the integrated LED, with the finned top section visible in the image drawing heat away from the light source to maintain output over the 5-year warranty period. The Okno operates on AC 165-265V, covering UK mains voltage with tolerance for supply fluctuations.

Frequently Asked
How is the colour temperature changed?
The Okno toggles between 3000K, 4000K and 6000K by cutting power at the wall switch. Turn the light off, wait two seconds, then turn it back on to cycle to the next colour temperature. The fitting remembers the last setting when left on continuously.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
The fitting requires a minimum 60mm void depth above the ceiling to accommodate the driver and heat sink assembly. The cut-out size is approximately 155mm square, with the 170mm faceplate covering the aperture once installed.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP44 rating protects the fitting against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 under UK wiring regulations. It is not rated for direct spray (zone 1) or submersion.
Is it dimmable?
The specification does not list dimming capability. Most CCT-adjustable downlights prioritise colour temperature switching over dimming. Contact Niori before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.
