The Muse is a 135mm square surface-mounted downlight with a white plaster body and an adjustable painted metal GU10 fitting at the centre. The plaster body sits directly on the ceiling without recessing, making it suitable for installations where ceiling void depth is limited or where a recessed downlight cannot be fitted. The GU10 lampholder tilts within the metal ring, allowing the beam to be angled across a wall or down onto a worktop.

Designed for hallways, kitchens, bathrooms (within IP20 zones) and bedrooms, the Muse provides directed task or accent lighting without cutting into the ceiling structure. The square footprint gives a more architectural profile than circular surface spots, suiting modern and minimalist interiors where geometric forms are part of the design language. The white plaster finish blends with white or light-toned ceilings, presenting as a shallow ceiling detail rather than a bolted-on fitting.

The plaster body is lightweight and paintable, so it can be finished to match a specific ceiling colour during decoration. The painted metal inner ring holds the GU10 socket and provides the pivot mechanism for angling the lamp. The downlight accepts any GU10 bulb up to 50W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED wattage, colour temperature and beam angle depending on the room's lighting requirement. The dimmable rating means the fitting works with most GU10 dimmable LED bulbs when paired with a compatible dimmer.

The Muse takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED between 5-7W and 3000K-4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is preferred.

Can the light direction be adjusted?

Yes. The GU10 lampholder tilts within the painted metal ring, allowing the beam to be angled towards a wall, along a hallway, or down onto a worktop. The adjustment range is approximately 25-30 degrees from vertical.

Yes. The plaster surface can be painted with standard emulsion or ceiling paint to match the surrounding ceiling colour. Allow the paint to cure fully before installing the bulb to avoid heat-related discolouration.
