Description

The Mollis is a wall-mounted reading light with a matt black metal arm and a half-dome shade housing a 7W G9 LED bulb behind an acrylic diffuser. The arm extends 29cm from the wall-mounted back plate, positioning the light source ahead of the mounting surface to direct light downward and forward without glare. The shade tilts slightly to angle the beam towards a bedside, armchair or hallway reading position.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and reading corners where a directional wall light is needed without running new ceiling wiring, the Mollis provides focused task light while keeping the light source concealed inside the dome. The 36.5cm overall height from the base of the back plate to the top of the shade suits typical bedhead wall mounting heights of 120-140cm, or hallway positions where the light needs to sit above head height. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only.

The matt black finish on the metal components absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, allowing the fixture to recede visually when switched off. The acrylic diffuser softens the G9 LED output to reduce sharp shadows and direct glare, making the light comfortable for close reading. The 9.5cm projection from the wall when the arm is extended means the fitting sits clear of typical headboard depths and picture rails.

The 7W G9 LED is integrated and depends on compatibility with the dimmer switch used on the circuit. Most G9 LEDs work with leading-edge dimmers, but trailing-edge dimmers may be needed to avoid flicker. Check the specific G9 LED model or contact us before pairing with a dimmer.

What height should it be mounted at?

For bedside reading, mount the back plate 120-140cm from the floor, which positions the light source at sitting eye level when propped against pillows. For hallway use, mount at 180-200cm to provide overhead lighting without the shade sitting at head height.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Mollis is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require a minimum IP44 rating.

Does it come with the bulb?

The 7W G9 LED is integrated into the fitting and supplied as standard. It is not user-replaceable without disassembling the shade.
