Description

The Messina is a 239mm tall wall light pairing a natural linen cylindrical shade with a gold-finished metal frame that wraps a geometric honeycomb pattern around the lower third of the shade. A single E14 bulb (sold separately, up to 40W) sits inside the shade behind a frosted glass diffuser at the base, casting light upwards through the linen to produce soft, diffused ambient illumination.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and staircases where wall-mounted accent lighting is needed without ceiling pendants, the Messina mounts on a standard 60mm backplate and projects 101mm from the wall. The linen shade filters and softens the light, avoiding harsh shadows or glare, while the gold geometric trim provides a decorative element that works across traditional, transitional and contemporary interiors with warm-toned palettes.

The metal frame is finished in a gold tone with a slight sheen, and the geometric pattern creates visible interest when the light is off while casting subtle shadow patterns when the lamp is on. No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable only for dry interior locations. It is not protected against moisture and should not be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor locations.

How is the linen shade cleaned?

Lightly vacuum the shade with a soft brush attachment to remove dust, or wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid damp cleaning, as moisture can mark natural linen. The shade should be removed from the frame before cleaning to avoid damaging the metal trim.

What wall depth is needed for fitting?

The backplate is 60mm diameter and the fitting projects 101mm from the wall once installed. A standard UK single-gang metal pattress box is sufficient for mounting, and the fitting should be wired by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations.
