The Maytoni DL058 is a 7W recessed LED downlight with a 60mm diameter black aluminium bezel and an integrated 3000K warm white LED. The fitting sits flush with the ceiling once installed, with only the 53mm-deep housing and spring retention clips concealed above the ceiling line. The fixed beam angle casts a cone of warm white light directly below the fitting, making it a functional choice for general room lighting in bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and commercial spaces where recessed lighting is preferred over surface-mounted fittings.

Designed for ceiling void depths of 60mm or greater, the downlight requires a standard circular cutout and connects to mains AC 220-240V wiring without needing a separate driver (the LED driver is integrated into the housing). The matt black finish on the aluminium bezel provides a defined edge against white or light-coloured ceilings, or blends into darker ceiling tones depending on the interior palette. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations.

Is this downlight dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model. Most mains-voltage LED dimmers will work, but trailing-edge dimmers typically give smoother dimming performance with integrated LED downlights than leading-edge models. Test with your chosen dimmer before committing to a full installation.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The fitting requires a minimum 60mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the 53mm-high housing and the spring retention clips that hold the downlight in place. Shallower voids will not provide enough clearance for safe installation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the downlight is only suitable for dry indoor environments. Bathrooms, wet rooms and outdoor installations require IP44 or higher rated fittings to protect against moisture ingress.

What cutout size is needed for installation?

The 60mm diameter bezel requires a circular ceiling cutout slightly smaller than 60mm to allow the bezel to sit on the ceiling surface while the housing sits above. The product manual (see Downloads tab) provides the exact cutout dimension for installation.
