Description
The Mabell is an asymmetric wall light with a sculptural cast blown glass dome in a polished gold finish, housing a single E14 bulb fitting. The organic, irregular shape presents as a smooth, rounded form with an open circular aperture at the centre, creating a halo effect when lit.
Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedrooms where decorative accent lighting is needed, the Mabell works as a standalone feature or in pairs flanking a mirror, fireplace or artwork. The 27.5cm width and 20.8cm height give it presence on a wall without overwhelming smaller rooms. The IP20 rating limits it to dry indoor locations — bathrooms and outdoor areas require a higher-rated fitting.
The polished gold finish on the blown glass reflects and amplifies the light from the E14 bulb inside, creating a warm glow across the surface of the dome itself. The asymmetric profile means the light distribution is directional rather than uniform, with more light projecting forward and upward than downward. The metal construction and thick glass give the fitting a solid 1.2kg weight when installed, requiring secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studwork rather than plasterboard alone.
The Mabell takes any standard E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Most users pair it with a 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) to balance the gold tone of the finish. The dome is not removable for cleaning — dust accumulation on the exterior can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the power is isolated.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Mabell uses a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. A 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) is the typical choice to complement the gold finish.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means it is suitable only for dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher, particularly in zones 1 and 2 around baths and showers.
Is the glass dome removable?
No. The cast blown glass dome is fixed as part of the construction. For cleaning, isolate the power and wipe the exterior surface with a dry microfibre cloth.
What wall fixings are needed?
The fitting weighs approximately 1.2kg when the bulb is fitted. Use appropriate wall plugs and screws rated for the wall material — masonry plugs for brick or block, timber screws for studwork. Plasterboard-only fixings are not recommended without additional support.
