Description

The Lyris is a 3m black aluminium profile cover designed for trimless LED strip installations in ceilings, walls and under-cabinet positions. The extruded aluminium body is anodised and powder-coated in matt black, creating a durable surface that resists scratches and wear. The trimless edge detail allows the profile to sit flush with plasterwork once the installation is complete, hiding the junction between the profile and the surrounding surface.

Designed for continuous runs of LED strip lighting where a clean architectural finish is required, the Lyris sits within a recessed channel cut into the plaster or plasterboard. The 3000mm length allows long uninterrupted runs of light without visible joins, reducing the number of connectors and corner pieces needed across a ceiling or wall span. The profile accepts standard LED strip tape (sold separately) and holds it securely while diffusing and directing the light output.

The black finish suits contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors where visible metal adds contrast against white or pale walls. The 35mm projection from the mounting surface gives enough depth to house mid-power LED strip and wiring without protruding into the room. The anodised and powder-coated surface finish provides corrosion resistance and a consistent colour tone across the full 3m length, avoiding the tonal variation sometimes seen in painted aluminium profiles.

What LED strip does it accept?

The Lyris profile accepts standard LED strip tape typically between 8-12mm wide. The exact strip width and power rating depend on the internal channel dimensions — most mid-power 12V or 24V LED strips fit comfortably. LED strip and drivers are sold separately.

How is it installed?

The profile is designed for trimless recessed installation. A channel is cut into the plasterboard or plaster to the profile's depth, the LED strip is fitted inside the profile, and the profile is then set into the channel with the edge flush to the surrounding surface. The plaster or filler is brought up to the profile edge to complete the trimless finish.

Can multiple profiles be joined end-to-end?

Yes. Multiple 3m lengths can be butted together to create continuous runs longer than 3m. Use joining clips or adhesive on the rear face to hold adjacent sections in alignment during installation.

Is the black finish scratch-resistant?

The anodised and powder-coated aluminium surface is more resistant to scratches than painted finishes, but it is not scratch-proof. Handle the profile carefully during installation to avoid marking the surface before it is recessed into the wall or ceiling.
