Description

The Lyris Trim is a 3-metre black anodised aluminium profile cover designed to house LED strip lighting in recessed installations. The profile measures 44mm in projection depth and features an extruded aluminium construction with a powder-coated black finish over the anodised base layer. The cover clips into position over LED strip mounted inside the profile channel, concealing the strip itself while allowing light to emit from the aperture.

Designed for architectural lighting along ceiling perimeters, under kitchen cabinets, beneath wall-mounted shelving, and in retail display cases, the Lyris Trim creates continuous lines of recessed light without exposed strip or cable runs. The 3m length allows fewer joints on longer runs compared to shorter profile sections, reducing visible seams in the finished installation. The profile is cut to length on site using a hacksaw or mitre saw and mounted using clips or adhesive depending on the substrate.

The black anodised finish provides corrosion resistance and pairs with modern, industrial and minimalist interiors where visible metalwork needs to recede visually. The 44mm projection depth determines how far the profile sits below the mounting surface — this dimension must be accommodated in ceiling voids, cabinet plinths or wall recesses before installation. LED strip, driver and mounting hardware are sold separately and must be specified to match the profile's internal dimensions.

Can the profile be cut to shorter lengths?

Yes. The 3m extrusion can be cut to any required length on site using a hacksaw or mitre saw with a fine-tooth blade suitable for aluminium. Cut edges should be deburred with fine abrasive paper before fitting the cover.

How is the profile mounted?

Mounting depends on the installation type. Recessed ceiling installations typically use spring clips or mounting brackets fixed to the ceiling structure. Under-cabinet and wall-mount applications may use adhesive, screws or brackets. Mounting hardware is sold separately.

Does the cover diffuse the LED light?

The Lyris Trim is a profile cover rather than a diffuser. If a frosted or opal diffuser is required to soften LED hotspots, a separate diffuser insert compatible with this profile must be specified and ordered alongside the profile itself.
