Description

The Luxeon is a 225mm linear track connector designed for surface-mounted track lighting systems, finished in white powder-coated aluminium. The connector joins two track sections in a straight line while maintaining power continuity across the run, allowing track spotlights or pendants to be positioned anywhere along the combined length. At 18mm projection from the ceiling, the connector adds minimal bulk to the track profile.

Designed for commercial, retail and residential installations where recessed track mounting isn't possible, the connector suits concrete ceilings, steel-frame buildings and heritage properties where cutting into the ceiling structure is impractical or prohibited. The surface-mounted design means the track and connector are fixed directly to the ceiling surface using screws into plugs or joists, with cable entry from above or through the side of the track depending on the circuit routing.

The connector supports dimmable circuits, so track-mounted fittings can be controlled via a compatible wall dimmer or lighting control system. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations. The white finish matches Ideal Lux's Luxeon white track sections and pairs with white or light-coloured ceilings to keep the track system visually recessive.

The Luxeon connector is designed for Ideal Lux linear track systems. Track systems from different manufacturers use different profile shapes, conductor spacing and fixing methods, so cross-brand compatibility is rare. Match this connector to Luxeon track sections from Ideal Lux to ensure proper fit and safe electrical continuity.

Can it be used with non-dimmable fittings?

Yes. The connector supports dimmable circuits but does not require the fittings mounted on the track to be dimmable. Non-dimmable track spotlights will run at full brightness on a dimmed circuit, while dimmable fittings will respond to the dimmer setting.

What does IP20 mean for installation?

IP20 provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but offers no moisture protection. The connector is suitable for dry indoor locations only — living rooms, offices, retail spaces. Do not use in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor or damp location.

How is the track wired through the connector?

The connector maintains electrical continuity between two track sections. Mains power is fed into the track at one point (usually via a separate feed connector or ceiling rose adaptor), and the Luxeon connector allows that power to continue through to the next section without needing to re-wire at each join.
