Description

The Luxeon main power connector provides the mains power feed point for Ideal Lux track lighting systems, housing the electrical connection between a ceiling rose or power supply and the start of the track run. The 95mm white polycarbonate housing contains the internal terminals and wiring that transfer 230V power into the track's conductor rails, from which individual track-mounted spotlights or pendants draw their supply.

This connector is designed for installation at the start of a track system in residential, retail and commercial interiors where the track begins at a fixed ceiling power point. The connector clips or screws onto the end of the track profile and receives a standard three-core mains cable (live, neutral, earth) fed from the ceiling. Once connected and the track energised, any compatible Luxeon track spotlight or pendant fitted further along the track will draw power from the conductor rails without needing individual wiring.

The white polycarbonate finish matches Ideal Lux white track profiles and integrates cleanly into ceilings painted white or light neutral tones. The IP20 rating limits the connector to dry indoor environments only — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor canopies. The 18mm projection from the track means the connector sits relatively flush against the ceiling once installed, avoiding a bulky or prominent appearance at the start of the run.

Frequently Asked

Is this compatible with all Ideal Lux track systems?

The Luxeon connector is designed for Ideal Lux Luxeon track profiles. Check that your track is from the Luxeon range before ordering, as Ideal Lux produces multiple track systems with different connector fittings.

Can this be installed by a homeowner?

No. The connector involves mains voltage wiring directly from a ceiling power source. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations (BS 7671).

Can the connector be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector offers no protection against moisture ingress and is suitable for dry indoor environments only. For bathrooms or outdoor use, a higher IP-rated system is required.

What cable size does the connector accept?

The internal terminals typically accept standard 1.0mm² to 1.5mm² three-core mains cable. Consult the installation instructions or an electrician if using a different cable gauge.
