Description

The Luxeon Magnetic Recessed L-Connector Track Left is a 100mm plastic connector piece that forms left-hand 90-degree corners in magnetic recessed track lighting systems. The connector sits flush with the ceiling plaster line when installed into a recessed channel, allowing track runs to turn corners without visible gaps or surface-mounted junction boxes. The black finish matches Luxeon's magnetic track range and other black recessed track systems.

Designed for residential, retail and commercial installations where track lighting needs to navigate corners, the L-connector maintains electrical continuity through the 90-degree turn, allowing spotlights and pendants to be positioned anywhere along the connected track sections. The magnetic interface means track heads can be moved, added or removed without re-wiring. The connector is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations and is compatible with dimmable track systems when paired with appropriate control gear.

The 100mm x 100mm footprint allows the connector to bridge standard ceiling joist spacing in most UK residential builds. The plastic housing keeps the connector lightweight at approximately 80g, reducing mechanical load on the ceiling substrate compared to metal equivalents. Installation requires the connector to be slotted into pre-cut recessed track channel at the corner point, with track sections pushed into either side to complete the circuit. The left-hand orientation means the connector turns the track 90 degrees to the left when viewed from the direction of the incoming track section.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between left and right L-connectors?

The orientation determines which direction the track turns when viewed from the incoming track section. A left-hand connector turns the track 90 degrees to the left, a right-hand connector turns it 90 degrees to the right. You'll need to plan your track layout before ordering to ensure you select the correct orientation for each corner.

Is this compatible with surface-mounted track systems?

No. This is a recessed connector designed to sit flush within a plaster-in channel. It will not work with surface-mounted track systems that attach directly to the ceiling surface. Surface-mounted systems require different connector types.

Does it carry electrical current through the corner?

Yes. The connector maintains electrical continuity through the 90-degree turn, allowing magnetic track heads to be positioned anywhere along the connected track sections on either side of the corner without additional wiring.

What ceiling depth is needed for recessed installation?

The connector sits within the recessed track channel, which typically requires a minimum ceiling void depth of 60-80mm depending on the specific track system being used. Check the track manufacturer's installation guide for exact void depth requirements.
