Description

The Luxeon is a 3W LED magnetic track spotlight with an integrated 3000K LED housed in a white extruded aluminium cylinder body measuring 190mm long by 40mm diameter. The spotlight attaches magnetically to compatible track systems, allowing it to be repositioned along the track without tools or re-wiring. The cylindrical head directs light downward in a focused beam suitable for accent lighting or task lighting.

Designed for retail displays, gallery walls, kitchen worktops and office task zones, the magnetic fixing means the spotlight can be slid to a new position on the track as lighting needs change. The track itself mounts to the ceiling via a metal rail with integrated electrical contacts, and the spotlight's magnetic base makes contact with these to receive power. This system works in commercial and residential settings where lighting layouts need to adapt over time.

The white powder-coated aluminium finish keeps the spotlight visually recessive on white or light-coloured ceilings, allowing the lit objects to take focus. The 3W LED output at 3000K provides warm white light comparable to a halogen spotlight but with lower heat output and energy consumption. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments — not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use.

What track system does this work with?

The Luxeon uses a magnetic track system where the spotlight attaches magnetically to a powered track rail. The track is sold separately and must be compatible with Ideal Lux magnetic spotlight fittings. Standard single-circuit track systems will not work with this spotlight.

Can the spotlight be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The magnetic base allows the spotlight to be slid along the track to a new position without tools or re-wiring. This makes it suitable for spaces where lighting needs to adapt as displays or room layouts change.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 3W LED is integrated into the spotlight housing and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10-15 years of typical domestic operation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the spotlight is only suitable for dry indoor environments. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or splashing water.
