Description

The Luxeon track connector is a 225mm surface-mounted aluminium joining piece that links sections of Luxeon linear track lighting systems together. Finished in black with an 18mm projection from the ceiling, the connector maintains electrical continuity across track sections while supporting dimmable lighting control through compatible drivers and controls.

Designed for surface installation where recessed track channels are not practical, the connector fixes directly to ceilings using the mounting points along its 225mm length. The aluminium body carries the electrical conductors between track sections, allowing track lighting layouts to extend across longer runs or turn corners without visible wiring breaks. The connector works with Luxeon track heads rated for dimming, passing the dimming signal from the control point through to all connected fittings.

The black powder-coated finish integrates with dark ceiling schemes and industrial-style interiors where exposed track systems form part of the design language. The 18mm projection keeps the track profile low against the ceiling while providing enough depth to house the electrical contacts. At IP20 the connector is rated for dry interior use in retail, hospitality, residential and office environments.

The Luxeon connector is designed specifically for Ideal Lux Luxeon track systems. It may not be compatible with track from other manufacturers due to different conductor spacing, mounting profiles and electrical configurations.

Does it support dimming functionality?

Yes. The connector passes dimming signals from the control point to all connected track heads, provided those heads are also rated for dimming. The dimmer itself is installed at the power supply or driver, not within the connector.

What is the IP20 rating suitable for?

IP20 indicates protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but no water protection. This connector is suitable for dry indoor environments only — it should not be used in bathrooms, kitchens near wet areas, or any outdoor location.

How is the connector installed?

The connector surface-mounts to the ceiling using screws through the mounting points along the aluminium body. Track sections slot into either end of the connector, making electrical contact with the internal conductors. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
