Description

The Luxeon is a 2m magnetic track lighting system in black powder-coated aluminium, designed to carry magnetic spotlights and pendant adaptors that can be repositioned along the rail without tools. The track mounts directly to ceilings or walls via a 26mm-deep surface channel, with fixing points concealed inside the aluminium profile once the magnetic cover strip is clipped into place.

Designed for kitchens, retail spaces, galleries and open-plan living areas where lighting requirements change over time, the magnetic system allows spotlights to be slid along the 2m length and clicked into position at any point. Each track segment carries low-voltage current along two internal copper rails, eliminating the need to pre-plan spotlight positions during installation. The system works with Ideal Lux's range of magnetic spotlights, pendant adaptors and linear modules, all sold separately.

The black finish is a fine-textured powder coat over extruded aluminium, giving a matt surface that resists fingerprints and minimises reflection under ceiling-mounted or pendant lighting. At 26mm projection the track sits close to the ceiling plane, making it suitable for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights without creating a bulky overhead presence. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments — the track is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or unconditioned spaces.

These attach via integral magnets and can be repositioned along the track without tools. Can the track be joined to create longer runs?

Yes. Ideal Lux produce connector pieces that join multiple 2m sections into continuous runs. Connectors maintain electrical continuity across segments and are concealed inside the track profile once the magnetic cover strip is clipped back into place.

The track itself carries low-voltage current and is compatible with dimming systems when paired with a dimmable driver. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific magnetic spotlights and driver you use — check individual spotlight specifications before installing a dimmer.
