Description
The Luga is a 514mm table lamp built around a faceted smoke glass base made from recycled glass, capped with a turned walnut wood disc and aged brass hardware. The glass base features vertical fluting that catches and refracts ambient light, giving the smoke tint depth and variation depending on the light source behind it. An ivory polycotton drum shade sits above the base, diffusing the E27 bulb output into soft, even ambient light.
Designed for side tables, console tables and bedroom nightstands, the Luga works as accent lighting in living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where warm-toned ambient light is needed without the hard shadows of a downlight. The 355mm diameter footprint suits standard side tables and narrow console depths. The lamp accepts any E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing choice of colour temperature and dimmer compatibility based on the specific bulb used.
The recycled glass base is heavier than standard glass, giving the lamp a 2.5kg stability on flat surfaces. The vertical facets on the glass catch light differently throughout the day as natural light angles shift, so the lamp has a changing appearance even when switched off. The aged brass detailing on the upper and lower caps shows a muted, slightly tarnished finish rather than a high-polish shine, pairing with warm woods, grey upholstery and natural linen textiles. The ivory shade is hand-made in the UK and sewn rather than glued, so the seam line is visible but clean.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Luga take?
The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient living room or bedroom lighting.
Is the recycled glass fragile?
The recycled glass base is thick-walled and faceted, making it more robust than thin blown glass. It should be handled with care during setup and cleaning, but the weight and wall thickness give it reasonable resistance to accidental knocks on a stable surface.
Can the shade be replaced?
Yes. The 355mm diameter ivory drum shade is a standard fitting. If the shade becomes damaged or discoloured over time, replacement shades in similar dimensions are available from lighting accessory suppliers and can be fitted without tools.
What surface does the aged brass finish pair with?
The aged brass has a muted, slightly tarnished finish rather than a high shine. It pairs well with walnut and oak furniture, grey and taupe upholstery, and natural linen or cotton textiles. It sits comfortably in both contemporary and mid-century interiors.
