Description

The Lucidra is a 50cm spherical outdoor pendant light with a white opal plastic diffuser suspended from an aluminium ceiling rose on a 900mm PVC-sheathed cable. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches, verandas, pergolas and under eaves where rain cannot fall directly onto the fitting.

The single E27 lamp socket (bulb sold separately) sits inside the 50cm opal sphere, which diffuses light evenly in all directions. This makes the Lucidra effective as ambient lighting over outdoor dining tables, at front entrances, or in covered courtyard spaces where general illumination is needed rather than directed task light. The 900mm cable allows the pendant to be suspended between 500-800mm below the ceiling rose depending on installation needs, though the cable cannot be shortened further without re-terminating.

The opal plastic diffuser is lightweight compared to glass alternatives, reducing strain on the ceiling fixing and making installation safer in locations where wind load is a consideration. The white finish provides a clean backdrop that pairs with both traditional and contemporary outdoor architecture. The aluminium suspension hardware resists corrosion in outdoor environments better than steel or painted metals. The fitting weighs approximately 1.2kg when fitted with a standard LED bulb.

Dimmable function depends on the bulb choice and the dimmer switch fitted indoors. Most E27 LED bulbs rated as dimmable will work, though compatibility varies by brand and dimmer type. No. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water but not direct rain or submersion. The Lucidra is suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches, verandas and under eaves where it is sheltered from direct rainfall and standing water.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white E27 LED between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor ambient lighting.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming, but the actual dimming function depends on the bulb you fit and the dimmer switch installed indoors. Use an E27 LED bulb specifically rated as dimmable and confirm compatibility with your dimmer before installation.

How is the cable length adjusted?

The 900mm cable is fixed and cannot be easily shortened without re-terminating the electrical connections inside the ceiling rose. If a shorter drop is needed, the excess cable can be looped inside the ceiling void during installation, though this should be done by a qualified electrician.
