Description
The Lucidra is a 20cm diameter outdoor pedestal light built around an opal plastic sphere that houses a single E27 bulb fitting. The sphere sits on an aluminium base that provides weather-resistant stability, and the entire fitting carries an IP44 rating for protection against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm. The light is supplied with a 2.8m PVC cable for outdoor installation.
Designed for ground placement along pathways, on terrace edges, at the base of garden steps, or on outdoor dining tables, the Lucidra provides low-level ambient illumination in compact outdoor spaces. The 20cm footprint fits between planted borders, along deck perimeters, and on balconies where larger pedestal lights would overpower the scale. The opal diffuser softens the E27 bulb output into a glow that illuminates the immediate 1-2 metre radius without creating harsh shadows or glare.
The white finish on both the diffuser and aluminium base pairs with contemporary outdoor furniture, white-rendered walls, and pale paving. The plastic sphere is lighter and more impact-resistant than glass equivalents, making it a practical choice for installations near play areas or high-traffic garden zones. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable E27 LED bulb, allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness for task lighting to a low glow for late-evening ambiance.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction and solid objects above 1mm in diameter. The Lucidra can be used on open patios, terraces and pathways but should not be submerged in water or left in standing puddles. It is not rated for areas with direct high-pressure water jets.
Does it come with a bulb?
No. The fitting takes one E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor ambient lighting.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, but dimming requires both a compatible dimmer and a dimmable E27 bulb. Not all LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer circuit.
Can it be left outside year-round?
The IP44 rating and aluminium base provide weather resistance for typical UK outdoor conditions. However, storing the light indoors during prolonged freezing periods or heavy storms will extend the lifespan of the plastic diffuser and cable connections.
