Description

The Lucella is a 220mm square LED flush ceiling light with an integrated 20W LED producing 4000K cool white light through a white plastic diffuser panel. The square frame measures 220mm x 220mm and sits close to the ceiling surface, making it suitable for rooms with limited ceiling height or where a minimal projection is needed.

Designed for kitchens, bathrooms (IP20 rating limits use to zone 3), hallways, utility rooms and small offices, the Lucella provides even overhead lighting across a 2-3m radius. The 4000K colour temperature produces a clean, neutral white that suits task-focused spaces where colour accuracy matters, such as food preparation areas, reading desks and workbenches. The fitting can be surface-mounted directly onto the ceiling or recessed into a prepared cut-out, depending on ceiling construction and preferred finish.

The white plastic construction keeps the weight low and the visual profile minimal. The integrated LED is rated at 20W, which typically produces around 1,600-2,000 lumens depending on the LED module efficiency, giving sufficient light for a 10-12m² room as primary illumination. The non-dimmable LED runs on standard 230V mains without requiring a separate driver or transformer visible in the room.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Lucella is suitable only for bathroom zone 3 (areas more than 600mm from a water source). It is not rated for use directly above a bath, shower or basin.

The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not designed to be user-replaceable. The LED module is covered by Ideal Lux's 5-year warranty and typically has a rated lifespan of 25,000-30,000 hours.

What's the difference between surface-mount and recessed installation?

Surface-mount means the fitting sits directly on the ceiling surface with the full depth projecting into the room. Recessed installation requires a cut-out in the ceiling void so the fitting sits flush with the ceiling plane, giving a cleaner finish but requiring access above the ceiling.
