Description

The Luce is a 3-light cluster pendant built around three oversized clear glass bulb-shaped shades, each housing decorative aluminium wire threads inside the glass and capped with a polished chrome E27 fitting. The three pendants hang at staggered heights from a central chrome ceiling plate on steel suspension cables, forming a cluster approximately 320mm wide.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and breakfast bars in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Luce provides ambient and decorative lighting where three separate light sources are needed without installing multiple ceiling roses. The steel cables are height-adjustable on installation using built-in locking devices, allowing each shade to be set between 500mm and 1500mm below the ceiling. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas.

Each glass shade is hand-blown and contains a nest of fine aluminium wire inside the clear glass, visible when the light is off and backlit when the bulbs are on. The polished chrome fittings and ceiling plate reflect light around the cluster, amplifying the output from the three E27 bulbs (sold separately, max 60W each). The combination of clear glass, metallic wire detail and chrome finish pairs with contemporary and mid-century interiors where reflective surfaces and glass are already present.

The Luce takes three E27 Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Maximum 60W per bulb. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to show the aluminium wire detail inside the glass without excessive glare.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable E27 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must match the bulb technology — LED bulbs require LED-compatible dimmers.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. Each of the three steel suspension cables has a built-in height adjuster that locks at any point between approximately 500mm and 1500mm below the ceiling. This allows the cluster to be set at different heights to suit table size and ceiling height.

What is the aluminium wire inside the glass?

The aluminium wire is a decorative element embedded inside each hand-blown glass shade during manufacture. It creates a nest-like texture visible when the light is off and backlit when the bulbs are on, adding visual interest beyond plain clear glass.
