Description
The Lofoten is a single-light outdoor wall light built around a black powder-coated steel box frame with clear safety glass panels on all four sides. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the frame on a black lampholder, with the clear glass allowing unobstructed light projection in all directions from the wall-mounted position.
Designed for exterior wall mounting on patios, garden walls, front entrances and garage sides, the Lofoten carries an IP44 rating that protects against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The 284mm projection from the wall positions the light source forward of the mounting surface, allowing it to throw light across doorways, seating areas and pathways. The open-frame design means the bulb itself is visible when lit, so most users fit a clear filament-style LED to complement the industrial aesthetic.
The steel frame uses electro-galvanised construction beneath the powder coat, providing corrosion resistance in coastal and damp climates. The 300mm height and 190mm width give the fitting enough visual presence to mark an entrance or corner without overwhelming a typical residential wall. The black finish reads neutral against brick, render, timber cladding and painted masonry, and the glass panels are held in a recessed channel that protects the edges from accidental contact.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (dust, insects) and water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for covered and exposed exterior walls, but not for areas subject to direct water jets or submersion.
What bulb does it take?
The Lofoten uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a clear filament-style LED in the 4-8W range and 2700K colour temperature to suit the industrial frame aesthetic.
How far does it project from the wall?
The fitting projects 284mm from the wall mounting surface. This positions the light source forward of doorframes and alcoves, allowing it to throw light across pathways and entrance areas rather than directly against the wall.
Is it suitable for coastal locations?
The electro-galvanised steel beneath the powder coat provides corrosion resistance suitable for coastal and high-moisture environments. The IP44 rating protects internal components from salt spray and damp conditions typical of UK coastal properties.
