Description

The Knightsbridge Torlan is a 1828mm (6ft) non-corrosive LED batten with integrated 3-hour self-test emergency lighting, built around a polycarbonate housing rated IP65 for dust and water ingress and IK08 for impact resistance. Internal switches allow selection between two wattage outputs (30W or 60W) and three colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5700K daylight), giving six lighting configurations from a single fitting.

Designed for commercial, industrial and outdoor applications where corrosion, moisture and impact are concerns — warehouses, car parks, food preparation areas, agricultural buildings, coastal locations — the fitting can be surface-mounted directly to ceilings or walls, or suspension-mounted with optional accessories. The emergency function provides maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes, with a LiFePO4 battery delivering 385 lumens for 3 hours during mains failure. The self-test routine checks battery health automatically.

At 60W the fitting delivers 8,660 lumens at 4000K (164.8lm/W efficacy), while 30W mode produces 4,750 lumens at the same colour temperature, allowing output to be matched to ceiling height and task requirements. The opal polycarbonate diffuser spreads a 150° beam across the space, and stainless steel clips secure the diffuser to the grey polycarbonate body. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty on the LED and electronics, with the battery excluded from warranty coverage as a consumable component.

How do I switch between wattages and colour temperatures?

Two internal switches inside the fitting allow selection between 30W and 60W output, and between 3000K, 4000K and 5700K colour temperatures. The switches are accessed during installation by removing the diffuser — settings cannot be changed without opening the fitting.

What mounting options are available?

The batten can be surface-mounted directly to ceilings or walls using the integrated mounting points. Suspension mounting requires optional accessories sold separately. See the Product Manual in the Downloads tab for mounting diagrams.

How does the emergency function work?

The fitting contains a 3-hour self-test emergency module with a LiFePO4 battery. During mains failure, the emergency mode provides 385 lumens. The self-test routine runs automatically to check battery health. The emergency function can be configured for maintained (on continuously), non-maintained (on only during failure), or switched operation.

Is the IP65 rating suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. IP65 protects against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for outdoor locations such as covered walkways, canopies, loading bays and external building perimeters. The IK08 impact rating adds protection against vandalism and accidental impact.
