Description

The Knightsbridge Torlan is a 1263mm (4ft) LED non-corrosive batten delivering 4900lm at 33W through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The integrated SMD LED board offers three selectable colour temperatures (3000K, 4000K, 5700K) via internal DIP switches, paired with DALI dimming control for integration with lighting management systems. The fitting includes a self-test 3-hour emergency module operating in maintained, non-maintained or switched modes, delivering 340lm during mains failure.

Designed for industrial, commercial and outdoor installations requiring anti-corrosive, weatherproof lighting, the Torlan carries IP65 ingress protection against dust and water jets, plus IK08 impact resistance against mechanical damage. The polycarbonate body and stainless steel diffuser clips resist salt spray, humidity and UV degradation in car parks, warehouses, food preparation areas, corridors, plant rooms and covered outdoor walkways. The 115° beam angle provides wide general illumination across aisles and open floor areas.

The fitting can be surface-mounted directly onto ceilings or walls, or paired with BESA box and suspension mounting accessories (sold separately). The grey polycarbonate body measures 90mm x 90mm in cross-section and weighs approximately 1.8kg. DALI control allows individual dimming and scene programming via compatible control systems, with the emergency module maintaining independent operation when the DALI bus is dimmed below normal emergency threshold. What is DALI and do I need it?

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a two-wire control protocol allowing individual dimming and scene programming of each fitting from a central control system. If you need dimming, scene control or integration with a building management system, this DALI model is required. If you only need on/off control, the CWA variant without DALI is more cost-effective.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP65 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as canopies, carports and external corridors. It is not rated for full submersion or direct rain exposure without a protective canopy.

What mounting options are available?

The Torlan can be surface-mounted directly to ceilings or walls using the fixing points on the rear of the body. BESA box and suspension mounting accessories are sold separately and allow the fitting to be mounted on conduit entries or suspended from chains or wires.
