Description

The Knightsbridge BATS4 is a 4ft LED batten with an integrated 22W LED strip delivering 2625 lumens at 4000K cool white through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The pressed steel housing measures 1225mm long by 61mm wide by 71mm projection from the ceiling or wall, with the diffuser distributing light across a 115-degree beam angle. The batten is designed as a direct replacement for conventional 4ft fluorescent tube fittings, using the same 600mm fixing centres and compatible with standard BESA boxes.

Suited to garages, workshops, utility rooms, storage areas and commercial spaces where high-output functional lighting is needed, the batten mounts to ceilings or walls using rear and end conduit fixing points. The hinged gear tray allows access to the driver and wiring without removing the batten from its fixings, and push-fit loop-in loop-out terminals allow multiple battens to be daisy-chained from a single circuit without junction boxes. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only.

The 22W LED runs at 147.56 lumens per watt efficacy on 230V mains, and the constant-current driver is rated for 50,000 hours L70B50 lifespan. The cool white 4000K colour temperature provides clear task lighting without the warm yellow tone of domestic bulbs or the clinical blue of 5000K+ commercial fittings. The white finish on the steel housing suits neutral-toned ceilings and blends into most functional spaces. The batten is Class I rated and requires an earth connection during installation.

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable and runs at full output when powered. It cannot be paired with dimmer switches.

Can it be surface-mounted on a wall as well as a ceiling?

Yes. The rear and end conduit fixing points allow the batten to be mounted to either ceilings or walls, provided the surface can support the weight and the IP20 rating is appropriate for the location.

What does the 600mm fixing centres mean?

The mounting points on the rear of the batten are spaced 600mm apart, which matches the standard spacing used by conventional 4ft fluorescent batten fittings. This allows the Knightsbridge LED batten to mount onto the same fixings as the fluorescent fitting it replaces.

Can multiple battens be linked together?

Yes. The batten has push-fit loop-in loop-out terminals that allow multiple units to be daisy-chained from a single circuit without needing separate junction boxes for each fitting.
