Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang modular faceplate is an 87.5mm square steel plate finished in matt black, designed to accept euro module inserts for custom AV, data and telecoms installations. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate mounting frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once fitted. The plate accepts two 25 x 50mm euro modules side-by-side, or a single 50 x 50mm module centred.

Designed for residential media walls, home offices, and commercial AV installations where cable types and connection formats vary, the modular system allows TV aerial, satellite, HDMI, Ethernet, USB, telephone and other euro module inserts to be combined in a single faceplate. The matt black finish pairs with contemporary interiors and hides fingerprints better than polished or brushed metallic finishes. The IP20 rating confirms indoor-only use.

The faceplate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a 4.3mm projection from the wall once installed. A built-in gasket compresses against the mounting frame to close the gap between the cover plate edge and the wall surface, preventing dust ingress behind the plate. The required back box depth depends on the specific euro modules being installed — shallow modules may work in a 25mm box, while HDMI and bulkier modules typically need 35mm minimum depth.

The plate accepts any standard euro module inserts sized 25 x 50mm (two modules side-by-side) or 50 x 50mm (one module centred). Knightsbridge produces euro modules for TV aerial, satellite, HDMI, Ethernet, USB, telephone, RCA, speaker terminals and blank apertures. Most euro modules from other manufacturers also fit.

What back box depth is needed?

It depends on the euro module being installed. Shallow modules like blanks or telephone inserts may work in a 25mm back box, but HDMI, Ethernet and bulkier AV modules typically require 35mm minimum depth. Check the depth specification of your chosen modules before ordering the back box.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate mounting frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the plate and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or modules behind.

What does the 25-year warranty cover?

Knightsbridge provides a 25-year warranty on manufacturing defects in the faceplate itself (the steel construction and finish). The warranty does not cover damage from incorrect installation, over-tightening, or wear from repeated removal and refitting.
