Description
The Jules is a 383mm flush ceiling light combining a decorative outer drum of stamped oval metalwork in brushed nickel with an inner opal glass diffuser, housing three E27 bulb fittings. The repeating oval pattern wraps the perimeter of the fitting, creating a geometric screen that casts soft shadow patterns onto the ceiling while the opal glass below diffuses the bulb light evenly downward.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m where a pendant would hang too low, the Jules mounts directly to the ceiling with a 221mm total drop, leaving ample headroom in hallways, dining rooms, bedrooms and kitchens. The three E27 fittings accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (bulbs sold separately), giving flexibility to choose light temperature and brightness. Most users pair this with three warm-white LED bulbs at 8-10W each for general ambient lighting across a 12-16m² room.
The brushed nickel finish on the metalwork provides a soft grey-silver tone that pairs comfortably with both warm and cool colour schemes, sitting between the brightness of polished chrome and the warmth of brushed brass. The stamped oval pattern is cut from sheet metal rather than cast, giving crisp edges to each aperture. The opal glass diffuser hides the bulbs from direct view when standing beneath the fitting, preventing glare while maintaining even light distribution.

Frequently Asked
Is this suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The Jules sits 221mm below the ceiling when installed, making it appropriate for ceiling heights of 2.3m and above. The flush-mount design avoids the head-clearance issues that pendants can cause in rooms with standard UK ceiling heights.
What bulbs does it take?
The fitting takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED bulbs at 8-10W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting.
Is it dimmable?
Dimming depends on the bulbs you install. If you use dimmable LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch, the fitting will dim. The fitting itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.
How is the metalwork finished?
The oval pattern is stamped from sheet metal and finished in brushed nickel, which gives a soft grey-silver appearance with minimal reflectivity. The brushed texture diffuses light reflections and sits tonally between polished chrome and warmer brass finishes.
