Description

The ESP IP Camera Deep Base is a 146mm diameter metal junction box designed to house cable connections for wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted IP CCTV cameras. The box is rated IP66, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, making it suitable for outdoor installation where cable terminations need to be concealed and protected from weather.

The deep base adds 59mm of standoff between the mounting surface and the camera body, providing enough internal volume to accommodate cable joins, connectors and slack cable without forcing connections into tight bends. A G3/4 cable gland is supplied as standard, allowing mains or data cable to enter the base through a weatherproof seal. The grey powder-coated metal construction resists UV degradation and corrosion better than plastic alternatives.

This base is compatible with ESP's IP camera range including the REKIPC36FBG, REKIPC36FDG, HDVIPC28FBG2, HDVIPC28FDG2, HDVIPC2812VFBG2, HDVIPC2812VFDG and HDVIPC550VFBG models. The 150mm square footprint gives sufficient fixing area for masonry, brick or timber mounting, and the base is typically fixed with four screws through the corner mounting points before the camera is attached to the top surface.

Frequently Asked

What cameras is this base compatible with?

The base is designed for ESP IP camera models including REKIPC36FBG, REKIPC36FDG, HDVIPC28FBG2, HDVIPC28FDG2, HDVIPC2812VFBG2, HDVIPC2812VFDG and HDVIPC550VFBG. Check the camera's mounting pattern matches the base's top surface before ordering.

Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP66 rating means the base is protected against dust and high-pressure water jets, making it suitable for outdoor installation on building exteriors, eaves and exposed walls.

What size cable does the gland accept?

The supplied G3/4 cable gland accepts standard IP camera cable runs. The exact cable diameter range depends on the gland's compression fitting, but typical Ethernet and mains cable sizes are accommodated.

How is the base fixed to the wall?

The base is fixed using four screws through the corner mounting points on the 150mm square footprint. The fixing method depends on the surface — masonry anchors for brick, wood screws for timber, and appropriate fixings for render or cladding.
