Description

This ESP white metal deep base extends the mounting depth of IP anti-vandal dome cameras by 59mm, allowing installation over uneven surfaces, external cables or junction boxes where a flush mount is not achievable. The base is constructed from powder-coated metal with an IP66 rating, making it suitable for outdoor installation in exposed locations subject to rain and dust ingress.

Designed for use with ESP's IP range of anti-vandal dome cameras including the HDVIPC2812VFDWAV, the deep base provides a G3/4 threaded cable gland pre-fitted on the side wall, allowing cables to enter horizontally rather than through the ceiling or soffit. This is particularly useful when retrofitting cameras to masonry walls, timber fascias or pole-mounted installations where cable runs cannot be concealed within the structure. The 146mm outer diameter matches the footprint of ESP's standard dome cameras, maintaining a consistent visual profile.

The white powder-coated finish resists UV degradation and corrosion in coastal or high-humidity environments. The base fixes to the mounting surface using screws through the internal fixing points (visible in the base rim), and the camera then mounts onto the top face of the base using the standard camera fixing pattern. The 59mm additional depth provides sufficient space to house cable connectors, terminal blocks or inline power supplies inside the base cavity before sealing the camera on top.

What does IP66 rated mean?

IP66 indicates complete protection against dust ingress and protection against powerful water jets from any direction. The base can be installed outdoors in exposed locations and will withstand rain, snow and pressure washing without water penetrating the interior.

How is the cable gland used?

The G3/4 threaded cable gland is pre-fitted on the side wall of the base. Remove the compression cap, feed the cable through, then tighten the cap to seal around the cable jacket and maintain the IP66 rating. This allows cables to enter horizontally rather than from behind the mounting surface.

Can this be pole-mounted?

Yes. The base can be fixed to a pole-mounting bracket or adapter plate using the internal screw fixing points. The horizontal cable gland entry is particularly useful for pole installations where cables run up the inside of the pole.
