Description

The Ignis 15° lens is a 62mm diameter optical accessory for Ignis track lighting systems, narrowing the beam angle to 15° for precise spotlight applications. The lens clips into the front of compatible Ignis track heads, converting a standard flood beam into a concentrated spot that focuses light onto a defined area approximately one-tenth the width of the throw distance.

Designed for retail display lighting, gallery wall art spotlighting, museum exhibits and architectural detail highlighting, the 15° lens concentrates the output of the track light into a tight circle. At 2m throw distance the beam covers approximately 530mm diameter, at 3m throw it covers 790mm. This makes it suitable for single-object lighting where you need to draw the eye to a specific product, sculpture or wall feature without spill light washing adjacent areas.

The lens is moulded from clear optical-grade material that maintains colour rendering and light transmission while controlling beam shape. The 62mm outer diameter fits the standard Ignis track head bezel and secures with a friction-fit or clip mechanism depending on the specific track head model. The lens can be swapped in seconds without tools, allowing the same track head to be reconfigured between flood and spot duties as display layouts change.

Frequently Asked

Which Ignis track heads does this lens fit?

The 62mm diameter lens fits Ignis track heads with a corresponding 62mm bezel aperture. Check the track head specification or measure the front opening of your existing Ignis track light to confirm compatibility before ordering.

What beam pattern does 15° produce?

A 15° beam angle produces a concentrated spotlight with minimal spill. At a 2m throw distance the lit circle is approximately 530mm wide, at 3m it's 790mm. This is significantly tighter than standard track light flood beams, which typically range from 25° to 40°.

Can the lens be removed once fitted?

Yes. The lens uses a friction-fit or clip retention system that allows it to be removed and refitted without tools, making it easy to swap between different beam angles as lighting needs change.

Does the lens reduce light output?

High-quality optical lenses have minimal transmission loss, typically 5-8%. The perceived brightness in the centre of the beam increases due to concentration, but total lumen output from the track head decreases slightly compared to running the same head without a lens.
